(Milwaukee, WI – August 26, 2010)
Jani-King of Milwaukee has teamed up with the Brookfield Sheraton Hotel to collect and distribute previously used bedding, pillows and other accouterments to Southeastern Wisconsin’s families in need. The items have been graciously accepted by the Donald Driver Foundation and Waukesha County Sheriff Dan Trawicki for delivery to local shelters as well as the needy and homeless.
“I was asked if I could find a home for these items and thought that with the current economic situation we are in I am sure there are families in need of blankets, etc. to keep warm during the winter. I hope that every citizen takes the time to help those less fortunate during these tough times,” said Jon McAlpine, Chairman and CEO of Jani-King of Milwaukee.
“At the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, we take great pride in helping anyone who is in need of assistance. When Jon McAlpine and Jani-King came to us for our help on this project, we didn’t hesitate. Our office along with the Waukesha County Police Department will coordinate the distribution of these valuable items to those in need in Waukesha County,” said Waukesha County Sheriff Dan Trawicki.
Southeastern Wisconsin has thousands of needy, poverty stricken and homeless families. The number of families in need continues to rise as the economy worsens. The local shelters and organizations are doing the best they can to keep up with the ever-increasing requests for assistance.
