With Good Restaurant Cleaning You Get Take Out and Loyal Customers

It’s a fact that people judge the cleanliness of a restaurant within the first ten seconds after entering. Are the floors scrubbed? Are the tables spotless? Are the menus soiled? And speaking of old food, how much of it is on the walls and the waiters?

Restaurant cleaning is a strict business. When evaluating a restaurant, customers usually check out the bathroom first, and it had better be sparkling. The one thing that sends customers scurrying for the door is a dirty bathroom. Because if the bathroom is dirty, you can bet the kitchen isn’t much better.

Restaurant cleaning mistakes cost restaurants lost revenue through canceled reservations and negative word of mouth. Other mistakes such as failing to clean booths properly, stained linoleum, and overflowing trash have too many customers leaving the restaurant en masse. So when cleaning a restaurant, there are a few best practices to keep in mind.

Sanitize and disinfect the bathroom when restaurant cleaning. As mentioned before, a dirty bathroom is the biggest detractor when it comes to customer comfort. When cleaning a bathroom, run hot water in the sink, across the floors, toilets and the counters. Raising the temperature even a few degrees boosts the effectiveness of cleansers. Start at the top and work your way down, across the toilets and sinks, and finally the floor. Make sure to change cleansing cloths often. That way you’ll eliminate dirt and microbes instead of spreading them.

Cloth napkins should be exchanged after each use for new ones that have been freshly laundered in a good detergent and hot water. Furniture and decorations should be wiped down with disinfectant, and fans cleaned to remove dust and grime when doing a proper job of restaurant cleaning.

Vacuum the carpet with a HEPA filter vacuum to avoid spreading germs. Make sure to read the instructions on the vacuum bag and use appropriately. A too-full bag or clogged air filter will only spread dust, dirt and germs and promote illness among the restaurant’s guests. Wipe down counters, baseboards, lights, etc., with microfiber cloths to catch as much dirt and bacteria as possible. Finally, clean all surfaces with a disinfectant. By now the room should smell as clean as it looks.

Follow these simple rules for restaurant cleaning, and not only will your client thank you, his customers will as well.
