Jani-King Gulf Coast has enjoyed an ongoing corporate partnership with the PGA of America and the Fore!Kids Foundation’s through the Zurich Classic for several years. This year the foundation will be introducing a new team format to the tournament – a 72-hole stroke play featuring Foursomes during the first and third rounds and Four-Ball during the second and fourth rounds. To carry the spirit of teamwork and collaboration beyond tournament play Zurich Insurance and Whitney Bank hosted the 2017 Executive Woman’s Day, “A day of empowerment and inspiration through networking and corporate dialogue.”
Jani-King Gulf Coast thanks Danielle Fridge (Vice President, Commercial Banking at Whitney Bank/ Hancock Bank) for inviting Angelique Richardson, Jani-King Gulf Coast CFO, to this very exciting event. The day included a keynote speech from Molly Solomon, an inspirational and incredibly successful woman in sports television, and participants, strong women in their respective fields, attended a Power Panel Discussion moderated by WDSU News Anchor, Sula Kim.
Says Richardson, “It was inspirational to hear how other successful companies were able to diversify their workplace and achieve greater success through teamwork. Across all industries, we see too few women and minorities in executive positions, and as one, I feel I have a responsibility to mentor and sponsor other young professionals. We at Jani-King are constantly striving to build the best team made of the best people, and diversifying is the only way to get there. It was refreshing to hear how these incredible women were able to do just that and build successful teams around them at the same time. Molly Solomon’s story about having a mentor that told her she could do something, even when she didn’t believe it herself, was a powerful reminder of how managers sometimes need to encourage their teams to stretch beyond the limits in which they are comfortable, to fulfill their true potential.”
After the panel discussion the attendees packed backpacks with food, supplies and other items for New Orleans area children that will be distributed by Blessings in a Back Pack, a non-profit organization that mobilizes communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children who might otherwise go hungry. Richardson concludes, “I know we can all be inspired by individuals and companies who believe in Teamwork. Teamwork is what the Jani- King franchise model is all about and the reason we are able to boast that we are the best in the commercial janitorial industry. In my opinion, there are no greater business owners than our Franchise Owners and we get to be part of their team every step of the way to train, support, and help them realize their dreams.”
