Crown Club Winner Succeeds with Service

With the signing of a new health center location, Karen Blanck from Tucson took home this month’s Crown Club honors. Blanck, who knows the cleaning business from the ground up, says that servicing accounts yourself teaches you exactly what it takes to be successful.
“I purchased my franchise in the fall of 1998, and at that time it was a two person operation’ says Blanck. “We did all the work ourselves, that is how we were able to judge how to meet the needs of the client in each location. Today I have 48 employees with the majority of them working part time in the evenings.
For Blanck, there have been several challenges along the way, but she has stuck to the plan and learned to become quite good at balancing multiple tasks.
“Employee issues are some of the challenges that come to mind,” says Blanck. Also, sometimes there are so many things that have to be done at the same time that I feel like the guy on the Ed Sullivan show who tried to keep all the plates spinning on the sticks at the same time.”
While the challenges of managing a franchise can be difficult, the rewards are what Blanck enjoys the most. Being a franchisee is being in charge of your own life.
You can’t blame anyone else if things aren’t going right, you have to look in the mirror. Also, another benefit of the Jani-King franchise system is that other franchisees can be a big asset, if you are willing to listen to what they say.”
