As all records indicate, not once in the history of Holiday Inn has one of their
hotels received a perfect score on their in-house inspection: until now. Greg
and Gina Gurley (G&G Enterprises), Jani-King franchise owners in Corinth,
Mississippi, have helped the local Holiday Inn achieve something that had never
been done before, receive a perfect score of 100 on the hotel’s Quality
Evaluation. “Naturally, a perfect score is difficult to achieve and can only
happen with hard work and dedication by everyone involved,” said Rick Stockton,
owner of the Corinth, Mississippi Holiday Inn Express.
G&G Enterprises maintains a part-time staff of 10 employees to clean the
79 room hotel and has been responsible for all day to day cleaning of the entire
property since it opened six years ago. “You have to be very detail oriented
every day because you never know when the inspectors are going to be here,” says
Greg Gurley. “They run over everything with a white glove. If there is one hair
on the bed, you can not receive the 100 score.” The inspections are done at
random and performed by a different inspector each time to maintain the
integrity of the results.
This Holiday Inn Express has also received the Quality Excellence Award every
year since opening. The award is based upon guest response to a series of
questions involving the total stay experience (including cleanliness of rooms
and breakfast area). The award is earned by only 230 of the more than 3300
hotels worldwide. “We greatly appreciate the overall performance and especially
the cooperation given to us by Greg and Gina as well as the rest of the
housekeeping staff,” added Stockton.
